Gerry Moss
GERRY was born in Massachusetts January 21, 1950 to an Air Force father. He was the oldest of 8 children. As a musician, Gerry has lived in Europe, New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Ft Worth, Houston, and Hardy, Arkansas.
Gerry started to play guitar while in England at the age of six. He had watched an entertainer playing a guitar in his performance and he was hooked. He didn’t know how to play, but he instantly knew he wanted one.
He attended a Catholic High School where his success as a student left something to be desired. He did write some rock tunes for a show in high school that were accepted very well. He began to perform in talent shows and started to attract attention as a performer.
In addition to guitar, Gerry is accomplished on banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, Dobro guitar, and keyboards.
Gerry is also a very capable engineer and producer in the recording studio.
For a time, Gerry was the bass guitar player with Lloyd Price (Personality, Stagger Lee, Lawdy Miss Claudy).
He has been in the business performing for over 40 years and he is better now than ever.
Gerry can perform and headline either as a single artist self accompanied on guitar and/or keyboards or with his band, Mossman which performs as a 3 or 4 piece group.
Primarily a bues artist, as a single, Gerry can perform a broad range of material from blues, to show, to pop. This reflects his experiences from his childhood to the present encompassing more than four decades as an entertainer.
Each member of Mossman contributes enormous skill and experience to the group. Mossman is a loose connection of four guys who live in four different towns in three different states. They never see each other except to play. They perform with abandon, yet are very tight. Their performances are liberated but not reckless. Gerry has performed and headlined at numerous clubs, events and blues related promotions as a single or with a band.
